Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geo-Environmental Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic and experienced team. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the UK, including sectors such as energy, infrastructure, renewable energy, development, regeneration, and local authorities. Based in Sheffield, you will collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices, contributing to impactful projects that shape the future of our environment and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
As a Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will conduct project investigations, with a focus on site-based work. Your responsibilities include undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies), intrusive site investigations, managing fieldwork activities such as drilling, excavation, monitoring, supervising remediation and earthworks projects, liaising with contractors, preparing health and safety documentation, scheduling laboratory testing, and producing factual and interpretative reports. You will also support project planning and fee proposals.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a BSc degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience, including supervising site investigations and managing subcontractors. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently and in teams are essential. Knowledge of Openground logging software and rock core logging is advantageous but not mandatory. A full UK manual driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
