Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality electrical design work for a range of engineering projects by integrating electrical design activities with other technical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and produce electrical design documentation using PDMS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office in line with project requirements. This includes:
o Modelling of E&I equipment (cable trays, supports, lighting, etc.) in PDMS/E3D
o Cable tray and cable routing drawings
o Equipment layout drawings
o Lighting calculations and layouts
o Electrical cable schedules
o Hazardous area schedules
o Single line diagrams
o Earthing drawings
* Liaise with Electrical Engineers for the identification and selection of compliant electrical equipment.
* Coordinate EC&I design with other departments including Process, Structural, and Mechanical Engineering.
* Review and validate vendor documentation.
* Check and verify technical documents from other internal departments.
* Contribute to and implement design procedures to ensure safe and cost-effective delivery of project requirements.
* Undertake additional tasks within capabilities as directed by the EC&I Manager.
Required Skills & Competencies:
* Proficiency in PDMS/E3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
* Strong understanding of electrical installation design and documentation.
* Experience with E&I modelling including cable trays, supports, and lighting systems.
* Ability to interpret and produce technical documents to high standards.
* Strong collaboration skills across engineering disciplines.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation.
* Adaptable to changing project requirements and technologies.
* Able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
* HNC in Electrical Engineering (minimum); HND or Degree preferred.
* Proven experience in electrical design within an engineering environment.
* Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, PDMS/E3D modelling, and lighting calculations.
* Willingness and ability to work abroad when required.
