Are you looking for a new Receptionist position in Buckinghamshire?
We have an excellent opportunity for a Receptionist to join us at our Gateway Office. This is a 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract opportunity.
Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. You’ll manage the reception desk, maintain accurate visitor records, issue and receive security passes, and make sure the right people are promptly notified when their guests arrive.
In addition to your front-of-house duties, you will act as the fire evacuation reporting officer for the Gateway office. You’ll also collaborate with key teams such as Taxi Licensing and Electoral Services, supporting their visitors and helping to coordinate appointments.
Alongside greeting and hosting, you’ll offer confident signposting to services, handle general enquiries, and support visitors to access our digital services when needed — all while maintaining a calm, efficient front‑of‑house environment.
As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. You’re computer‑literate, comfortable multi‑tasking, and you thrive in a busy front‑of‑house setting. We will provide all the training you need in our systems.
Where our roles are customer-facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the role. This is a full-time customer facing role and part-time applications cannot be considered.
To be held as soon as possible following advert closing date.
