Design and optimise experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to produce actionable results.
Contribute to the grant writing process, supporting technical sections and experimental justifications.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to integrate biological workflows into automated systems.
Proactively identify challenges, propose solutions, and drive scientific processes with minimal oversight.
Maintain detailed experimental documentation and contribute to project reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven, hands-on wet lab expertise with standard and advanced experimental techniques and instrumentation.
Demonstrated use of results-driven DOE in experimental design.
Familiarity with the grant writing process for research funding.
Comfortable owning and driving scientific processes independently.
It would be nice if the candidate has:
Hands-on expertise across multiple DNA synthesis techniques, both enzymatic (e.g., Gibson Assembly, Rolling Circle Amplification) and chemical (e.g., phosphoramidite chemistry).
Experience with RNA synthesis workflows.
Exposure to integrating hardware and biology (automation, robotics, lab instrumentation).
Experience with fluorescence spectroscopy.
Experience with cell culture techniques and ELISA assays.
A proven track record of self-driven, end-to-end scientific projects.
