We’re looking for a Senior Geo-Environment consultant to join our growing Investigations and Remediation team, with opportunities to be based across our offices - Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Plymouth, and with an option for hybrid working.
In this role as Senior Geo-Environmental consultant, you will lead ground investigation, contamination assessment, and remediation projects, acting as project manager a and giving technical direction.
In any given period, the AECOM Investigations and Remediation Practice in the UK&I are working on approximately 400 live projects. Our experts provide one-stop access to services ranging from desk studies, site investigation, risk assessment, remediation (strategy development, design, implementation and validation), monitoring and close-out on a wide range of contracts. The work we undertake covers sectors from; transportation (road, rail, airports, and ports), industrial for specialist manufacturer clients, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, renewables including solar, hydrogen, wind and pump-hydro, developers, defence, public bodies such as Natural England and the National Trust and government agencies including the Environment Agency, SEPA, DEFRA and local authorities.
Our award-winning team serves a wide range of end markets and clients. We work for leading UK and international clients on commissions of varying scale across all sectors, some of our recent projects include the Thames Tideway, HS2, Net Zero Teeside and A303 Stonehenge to name a but a few.
Here's what you'll do:
* You will prepare fee proposals for external and internal clients and lead the input to projects from desk study and feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design
* You will develop conceptual site models, interpret soil/groundwater data, and progress projects through to remediation.
* This role involves client management, project management, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* A degree in an environmental, science or engineering based subject and be working towards Chartered status through a recognised institution like the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) or The Geological Society of London. Others will also be considered.
* Proven expertise in producing, reviewing, and approving technical reports.
* Proven understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance.
* Working knowledge of CDM regulations and site management.
* Hands on experience within field investigation, including site management, drilling supervision, collection of soil, groundwater, vapour and ground gas samples, or the supervision of remediation activities.
* Development of robust conceptual site models.
* Qualitative and/or quantitative risk assessment.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and clients in a multi-disciplinary environment
* Clean driving licence, and willing to travel within the UK
