About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed professional to lead the Science department. The successful candidate will drive high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring all students are supported to achieve their full potential while maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs, abilities, and interests of students across KS3 and KS4
Develop and adapt teaching resources, schemes of work, and pastoral strategies to support effective learning
Take responsibility for student progress, attainment, and outcomes, using effective planning to maximise achievement
Use a range of assessment and monitoring strategies to inform teaching, track progress, and set challenging targets
Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and communicate progress effectively with parents
Support students with Special Educational Needs by working closely with the SENCo to plan, implement, and review appropriate provision
Foster positive relationships with parents, governors, and the wider community
Contribute actively to meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice, develop curriculum approaches, and raise standards across the department
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and learning
Manage classes effectively, using strategies that motivate, challenge, and inspire students
Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and the values expected within the school community
Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of all students by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and must have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
