About the Role
We are seeking a gentle, flexible, and easy-going support team to care for a calm and relaxed young lady who loves both active outings and quiet time cuddling on the sofa with her favourite toys.
She has a learning disability and is nonverbal, with specific clinical needs including:
* JEJ tube (for medications and feeds)
* Ileostomy and gastrostomy care
* Epilepsy (well managed with medication)
She can weight-bear and transfer with single-person assistance, uses both manual and electric wheelchairs (with support), and a stair climber at home.
The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and enjoy a balance of energetic and restful care. A driver is essential for this role.
Hours of Work
* Weekdays: 4pm – 7pm
* Additional hours available during school holidays and family absences, including occasional 24-hour shifts
* Contract: 3–12 hours per week, with increased availability required during holidays
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored personal and clinical care in the client's home and community
* Administer medication and support with mobility, feeding, and hygiene
* Follow detailed care plans and ensure all clinical protocols are met
* Encourage engaging, safe, and enjoyable activities at home and outdoors
* Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
* Keep accurate records in line with company and regulatory standards
* Attend full induction and clinical training at our Harrogate head office (HG3)
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 6 months experience in complex care or similar setting
* Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
* Must live in the surrounding areas of Buxton
* Ability to attend training at our head office in Harrogate
* Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to care
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Training Can Be Provided)
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
* Experience with:
* PEG/JEJ feeding
* Ileostomy/gastrostomy care
* Epilepsy management
* Manual handling and hoist use
* Electronic care systems (e.g. PASS, CarePlanner)
