Role Overview
We are seeking a Full Stack Staff Engineer to join our London office and help drive the next evolution of Tiplati’s platform. As a Staff Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader across multiple teams, shaping the architecture, engineering best practices, and product direction. You will work hands-on across the stack, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with product, design, and leadership to deliver highly reliable, secure, and performant systems.
This is a critical role for someone who thrives in complex problem-solving, enjoys influencing technical strategy, and wants to make an outsized impact in a fast-growing fintech environment.
What You’ll Do
1. Own architectural direction for core platform components, ensuring scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
2. Design and implement full-stack features across our frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.
3. Lead high-impact technical initiatives, from system redesigns to major product capabilities.
4. Mentor and guide engineers, promoting high engineering standards, code quality, and best practices.
5. Partner with Product, Security, Compliance, and Operations teams to create solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.
6. Conduct design reviews, champion engineering excellence, and influence Tiplati’s technical roadmap.
7. Help evolve our cloud-native environment, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and reliability posture.
8. Investigate and resolve complex production issues, ensuring smooth operation of mission-critical payment systems.
What You Bring
9. 8+ years of professional experience building and scaling web applications, ideally in fintech or other regulated environments.
10. Strong backend experience using Node.js, Java, Go, or similar, including building distributed systems and high-throughput APIs.
11. Solid understanding of cloud architecture, preferably AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.).
12. Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and domain-driven design.
13. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team engineering initiatives and influence technical strategy.
14. Strong SQL and data-modeling skills; familiarity with both relational and NoSQL stores.
15. A security-first mindset, ideally with experience in payments, compliance, or enterprise SaaS.
16. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams across geographies.
17. Expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, paired with strong proficiency in a contemporary frontend framework (React, Vue, or similar)
