A well-established UK property services contractor is seeking an experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of a multi-contract, high-value planned maintenance and refurbishment portfolio across Cheshire and the surrounding region.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role delivering social housing refurbishment, passive fire protection and retrofit / decarbonisation programmes within a stable, long-term framework environment.
Youll lead and develop a growing commercial team while retaining full control of commercial performance across multiple live contracts.
The Role
As Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for both people leadership and commercial delivery, with autonomy to manage your region day-to-day.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading, mentoring and developing Quantity Surveyors, Trainees and Graduates
* Full commercial responsibility across multiple planned maintenance and refurbishment contracts
* Managing CVRs, WIP, forecasting, cost control and risk
* Overseeing tendering, subcontract procurement and payments
* Working closely with operational teams and clients to ensure contract performance
* Driving strong commercial governance and KPI delivery
Youll be trusted to run your own diary, make decisions, and shape how the team operates, with senior support available but without day-to-day micromanagement.
What Were Looking For
* BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
* 5+ years experience in a Quantity Surveying role
* Background in social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment or retrofit
* Experience managing multiple contracts / high-volume workstreams
* Confident team leader with a genuine interest in developing people
* Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
* Comfortable working autonomously in a regional role
