Responsibilities
* Assist students with Special Educational Needs in a group or classroom setting, providing support with lessons, activities, and tasks.
* Support students in building academic skills and personal development, adapting teaching methods and materials to suit individual needs.
* Promote an inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to engage with the curriculum, participate in activities, and develop confidence.
* Help manage classroom behaviour, supporting students to follow instructions, build social skills, and improve concentration.
* Work closely with teachers and other staff members to plan and deliver tailored learning programs, track progress, and adjust support strategies as needed.
* Provide emotional and social support to students, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and confident in their learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable, but not essential.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and staff.
* A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
* Ability to adapt to different learning styles, with an understanding of the various SEN needs.
* Experience in supporting behaviour management in the classroom would be beneficial.
