Maintenance Person

Grade 5 SCP 5-6 £12.18 to £12.39 per hour
Up to 15 hours a week (to be agreed with the successful candidate)
42 weeks a year

We are looking for an energetic and motivated person to join our expanding site team. We offer training, personal protective clothing and a comprehensive package which will include good holiday entitlement, pension and the opportunity to be part of a whole school team.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
1. Maintenance of school property to include painting, decorating, repairs to fittings and small scale improvements, fitting shelves or notice boards.
2. Regular health and safety checks such as fire extinguishers, ladders, fire alarms etc.
3. Janitorial duties and keep the site clear, tidy and free from litter.
4. Movement of stores and equipment around the site.
5. Occasional minibus driving may be required.
If the successful applicant has D1 on their driving licence and is willing to undertake further driving instruction to become a minibus driver, they may be asked to do so.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Ferndown Upper School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children.
