Full-Time SEN Teacher – Huddersfield (HD Postcodes)
Daily Rate: £160–£210/day | Full-Time | Long-Term/Short-Term | Temp-to-Perm
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Huddersfield. This is a full-time position for a teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established SEN Teacher, or a mainstream Teacher with proven SEND experience, who is now ready to focus fully on specialist education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
* Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet EHCP targets.
* Lead and support a team of SEN TAs and HLTAs in the classroom.
* Implement effective behaviour management, including strategies such as Team Teach.
* Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular reports to parents, carers, and external professionals.
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives, CPD, and safeguarding practices.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential.
* Experience teaching pupils with SEN (either in a specialist or mainstream setting).
* Strong differentiation and classroom management skills.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* Additional SEN training such as Makaton, PECS, Moving & Handling, or Team Teach is desirable.
