Lead Environmental Consultant
Location: Cheshire
Duration: 6-month contract
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate: £45–55 per hour (Ltd)

We are working with a growing SME consultancy who are seeking an experienced Lead Environmental Consultant to support a range of environmental and sustainability projects. This is a key role, offering autonomy and the opportunity to lead technical delivery while working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage environmental consultancy projects from inception through to delivery
* Provide technical expertise across environmental impact assessments, environmental management, and regulatory compliance
* Act as the technical authority, reviewing reports and ensuring high-quality outputs
* Liaise with clients, regulators, and project teams to ensure environmental requirements are met
* Support and mentor junior consultants within the business
* Contribute to continuous improvement of environmental processes and best practice
Requirements – Education and Experience
* A degree in a relevant environmental discipline
* Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation and policy
* Professional affiliation with or membership of an appropriate professional body
* Significant relevant experience in a consultancy environment or other relevant industry experience
* Experience of providing competent environmental advice to clients and colleagues
* Strong customer focus, striving for excellence by understanding, anticipating, and meeting the needs of others
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously
* Proven leadership skills
* Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Office 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint
* Full UK driving licence
* Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
