Are you an experienced digital health leader ready to shape how clinicians and patients experience technology every day? We are recruiting a Head of Clinical Information Systems to provide operational leadership for our Electronic Patient Record (EPR), clinical systems training, and wider clinical information systems--ensuring safe, resilient services and driving continuous improvement across the Trust.

Reporting to the Executive CDIO, you will work closely with the CCIO, CNIO, Joint Head of EPR, Head of IT and clinical/operational leaders.


Main duties of the job

The job holder will work with the CDIO, Head of IT, Joint Head of EPR, CCIO and CNIO to update the EPR and clinical information systems strategy as needed, to execute changes, and to deliver a high quality, efficient service through delivery of the following within the Trust. Job responsibilities

* Lead the Trusts day-to-day operational delivery of the EPR service, ensuring it is maintained, supported and continuously improved.
* Drive delivery of the EPR and clinical systems roadmap with digital and clinical leaders turning strategy into safe, usable change.
* Provide strong financial and performance management across operational, capital and project budgets monitoring benefits, risks and service standards.
* Lead workforce planning and line management for the Trusts Joint EPR staff and Clinical Systems Training Team building capability, resilience and a great team culture.
* Embed high-quality digital ways of working (requirements definition, change control, governance and assurance) in partnership with IT, clinical and operational teams.
* Support adoption and effective use of clinical systems across the Trust working with clinical leadership to improve user experience and outcomes.


Person Specification


Experience (Essential)

* Previous experience of working in the NHS or a similar large, complex environment
* Experience in supervising or managing staff
* Experience in the strategic leadership of clinical information systems implementation and support
* Significant experience in annual planning and business planning processes
* Substantial Project management experience
* Financial and budget management experience
* Demonstrable experience of successfully managing change
* Experience in performance management and business development
* Experience in requirements analysis, formal options assessment, and feasibility analysis
* Experience in designing, building, testing and deploying Information Systems within large highly-complex organisations
* Policy development experience

Qualifications (Essential)

* Master's degree level qualification in informatics related subject or equivalent experience
* Evidence of relevant Leadership and Management Development
* Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

* Advanced health informatics education
* Management Development training
* Recognised project management qualification, such as MSP or PRINCE 2 Practitioner
