As part of this team, you'll work alongside a team of Insurance specialists from across Insurance markets and will be able to quickly build upon your existing industry knowledge and consultancy skills to develop your expertise. We will be looking to you to help lead project teams and develop the talent and insight in our community.
As part of Insurance Operations & Domain Solutions team, you'll be working with a multitude of market leading teams from Deloitte to deliver value to our clients across the full delivery lifecycle starting from strategy and proposition definition to detailed operations and tech design, and being part of engineering and implementation teams to deliver for our clients. As Associate Director in the team, you will be working closely with our clients to understand their business strategy and the scope, scale and timescale of their cost transformation. Key to shaping and delivering the right programme is gaining insight on current challenges in the way they operate now and how they want to operate in the future. You will also be working closely with our Partners and Directors to refine the Insurance Cost Transformation / Productivity proposition, including conducting market research, defining go-to-market strategy, driving account activation, leading bid / proposal activities and delivering cost transformation engagements end-to-end.
The specific roles and responsibilities of the role are as follows:
* Track record in managing large scale cost transformation programmes including rapid diagnostics, hypotheses generation and analysis (including organisation structures, operating model design, cost modelling, sourcing strategies, process analysis)
* Significant experience within an insurer or insurance brokerage working closely with or in transformation, or a consulting firm serving General Insurance, London Markets, Insurance Brokerage clients
* Experience of managing medium-to-large scale consulting engagement teams with complex commercial models (e.g. outcome-based, risk-reward etc.)
* Good understanding of insurance financials, able to navigate financial reports incl. balance sheets, P&Ls, cost baseline and budget, comfortable to build and structure complex business cases and present to executive-level for decision making
* Experience in cost analysis techniques and analytical tools including cost modelling, zero based budgeting, spans and layers analysis, activity analysis, benchmark analysis, third party spend analysis
* Deep understanding of Insurance Operating Model with expertise knowledge in core functions e.g. underwriting, claims, distribution as well as supporting functions
* Able to articulate complex ideas to all levels of an organisation, and effectively lead and manage all key stakeholders and team members, resolving issues, competing demands and conflicts
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work on diverse teams; able to work with clients in sensitive environments, building trust-based relationship and provide positive impact and sound advice to the Executive Committee and Board
Preferred
* Subject matter expertise in one or more detailed areas of the UK insurance industry and market, including macro trends (regulatory, economic, and business factors) and disruptive technologies (AI, Automation and Digital) that are driving change and impacting business models of key institutions

* Determine the most appropriate cost approach, tailored to the client needs
* Lead and oversee end-to-end Cost Transformation engagements, ensuring the highest standards of delivery, quality, and the achievement of measurable business outcome
* Collaborate with wider teams in Deloitte to pull in regulatory, functional, data and technology expertise to support shaping and mobilising multi-year / multi-disciplinary cost transformation programmes
* Ensure the robust analytical underpinning of an engagement covering baseline, quantification of opportunities and benefit cases
* Provide respectful challenge and identify a portfolio of opportunities
* Develop client relationships and manage effective programme governance
* Support, manage and lead joint client/consulting teams
* Actively manage financials, key risks and issues
* Develop and refine our go to market collateral
* Manage diverse teams with an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
* Build business relationships, originate sales and lead key elements of the sales process
