About the Role
We are seeking a professional and experienced Steward to manage the day-to-day operations of our busy Working Men's Club. This role requires excellent leadership, organisational, and customer service skills to ensure the smooth running of the club for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operation of the club, including bar management and hospitality services
* Manage stock control, ordering, deliveries, and supplier relationships
* Handle cash management, banking, and accurate record keeping
* Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff and volunteers
* Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety regulations, and club policies
* Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and visitors
* Support the committee in delivering events and activities
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in bar, hospitality, or stewarding (essential- will consider some experience)
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Good financial awareness and experience handling budgets
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
* Professional, reliable, and approachable
