The Oxford Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre (OHTC) is a designated comprehensive care centre. It provides diagnostic and treatment facilities and is one of the largest such centres in the UK. Patients are also referred to the centre for investigation of possible bleeding or thrombotic disorders.
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our Haemophilia nursing team as a Specialist Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity to work as a specialist nurse and gain experience and knowledge in working with patients who have haemophilia & rare bleeding disorders.
Main duties of the job
At OHTC we support and treat patients in the outpatient setting, during inpatient or day surgery admissions and in their own homes. Working with us you will grow in competence in your knowledge of looking after patients with bleeding disorders. There is a multi-disciplinary approach to our patient care with nursing, medical, pharmacy and physio input. We also work closely with our paediatric colleagues in the children’s hospital.

No prior knowledge is needed in bleeding disorders, however a strong general nursing background with a passion and desire to work and develop as a specialist nurse is recommended.
Full training is provided in the department to develop your knowledge and skills and you will be supported by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
