Job Title:Team Leader – Domiciliary Care

Location:Milton Keynes and Surrounding Areas

Employment Type:Full-Time

Job Overview:

Its Children Limited, a registered provider of domiciliary care services under the Care Quality Commission (CQC), specializes in delivering high-quality care for children aged 0-18 with a variety of needs, including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and complex care requirements. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to manage and oversee care delivery, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of safety, well-being, and personal development.

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of care workers, ensuring compliance with CQC standards, and working collaboratively with families and external professionals. The role may also involve covering shifts when necessary to maintain continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

* Team Management and Supervision:
* Lead, support, and manage a team of care workers, ensuring they deliver high-quality, person-centered care to children in their homes.
* Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews to maintain high care standards.
* Coordinate staff rotas, ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts and stepping in to cover shifts if required.
* Monitor and assess staff performance, providing ongoing coaching and development to ensure the team is meeting its objectives.
* Care Delivery:
* Oversee and implement individualized care plans for each child, ensuring their developmental, emotional, and physical needs are met.
* Ensure all care provided adheres to CQC regulations and safeguarding policies.
* Provide hands-on care and support when necessary, including covering shifts in emergencies or during staff shortages.
* Compliance and Safeguarding:
* Ensure that care staff follow CQC regulations, including safeguarding policies, health and safety guidelines, and legal requirements.
* Maintain accurate records, care plans, and risk assessments, ensuring they are updated regularly.
* Conduct audits and ensure compliance with all internal policies and external standards.
* Liaison with Families and Professionals:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with the families of children in care, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues.
* Collaborate with health professionals, social workers, and other agencies to ensure holistic care for each child.
* Attend child reviews, multi-agency meetings, and case conferences, representing the interests of the children and ensuring their needs are being met.
* Training and Development:
* Identify and coordinate training opportunities for staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver high-quality care.
* Ensure that all care staff are up to date with mandatory training, including safeguarding and first aid.
* Mentor and support new staff during their induction and ongoing development.
* Crisis Management and Problem Solving:
* Act as a point of contact for complex care issues, providing solutions and guidance in challenging situations.
* Step in to manage emergency situations or staff shortages, including covering shifts to maintain service continuity.
* Work with the team to resolve any issues related to the quality of care or safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children) or equivalent (Level 4/5 desirable).
* Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within domiciliary or children’s care services.
* Comprehensive knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in child care.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Flexibility to cover shifts when required.
* A valid UK driving license (desirable).
