We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support our seventeen‑year‑old daughter who lives with us and her brother. Our daughter has a diagnosis of ASD, a severe learning disability, and experiences sensory difficulties. Her communication is limited, so short, clear instructions work best. We are looking to employ a reliable Personal Assistant to support her in doing the things she enjoys. The successful candidate would ideally have experience working with autistic children/youths and should be trustworthy, kind, energetic, compassionate, and a flexible thinker, as the visit plans may change on the day at her request.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the daughter in everyday activities and outings.
* Assist with planning and attending social activities such as fairs, beaches, parks, picnics, swimming, craft activities, bowling, and shop visits.
* Provide a safe and supportive environment while respecting her communication style.
* Adjust to changing plans and collaborate with the family.
Qualifications and Benefits
* Experience of providing support and care.
* Driving licence and ideally a car.
* 5.6 weeks holiday per year.
* Sick pay at SSP rate (if applicable).
* Training provided if required.
* Flexible working hours and days.
* DBS certificate paid for.
* Hourly Rate £14.00 per hour.
