We’re working with a well-established construction contractor based in St Albans that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a capable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy finance function within a construction environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across purchase ledger, subcontractor payments, and general accounts administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements
2. Managing subcontractor payments and CIS processes
3. Assisting with sales ledger and credit control
4. Bank reconciliations
5. Supporting month-end procedures
6. Maintaining accurate financial records
7. Liaising with suppliers and internal project teams
About You
8. Previous experience working within a construction company (essential)
9. Strong understanding of CIS and subcontractor payment processes
10. Experience using SAGE accounting software (highly desirable)
11. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
12. Confident communicator with a proactive approach
13. Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
