Overview

Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week. Your working days will be within Monday to Friday.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Procurement & Contract Management Service for a motivated and experienced Contract Management professional to join Bristol City Council, a diverse and ambitious organisation with a £1bn+ p.a. revenue budget and £1bn capital programme. Bristol City Council is seeking to recruit an experienced Assistant Contract Manager working within the Strategic Contract Management area of the service.


What will I be doing?

Working within the Adult Social Care strategic contract management team. You will lead on managing strategic systems contracts. You will be working with internal stakeholders from both Children Services and Adult Social Care who are the main users of the Systems.

You will support the development and delivery of best practice contract management for complex contractual arrangements for the Council’s portfolio of Adult Social Care Contracts.

Including monitoring, analysing and reporting on the performance of strategic contracts and supplier relations to key stakeholders in the council.

The role will be key in ensuring that strategic, critical, operational and supply chain contract management arrangements are in place and consistently managed.


What do I need to have?

You should have experience of working on Public Sector commercial agreements. Knowledge and/or experience of I.T. contract management will be useful.

Demonstrable understanding of contract management practice, contract law, and relevant legislation. Experience of sustaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders ideally in a commercial setting.

Proven analytical capability and ability to work in a logical and organised manner. Ability to meet tight deadlines and capable of working on own initiative both individually and in a team context.

Ability to adapt to challenging situations and people and respond appropriately using negotiation strategies and influencing skills to achieve objectives.
