Senior Network Security Engineer
Sheffield or Hatfield
£58,000 to £70,000 + 10% Bonus

The Role In a Nutshell
Act as the primary technical authority for key customer's complex network and security infrastructure. This is a unique hybrid position blending Technical Design Authority responsibilities with senior operational engineering, requiring deep networking and security expertise to drive technical improvements and lead during critical incidents.

The Role
You'll be the dedicated technical resource for key enterprise customers leveraging the IaaS platform to deliver critical business solutions. This isn't standard ticket-based work—you'll drive technical improvements, lead projects, and engage directly with customers. The role is 60-70% technical, requiring subject matter expertise in high-pressure, customer-facing environments. You'll be the go-to expert during major incidents, providing deep technical leadership.
Skills & Experience
•\tDemonstrable, in-depth experience in networking and security
•\tStrong skills in LAN switching and routing principles
•\tProven experience with security technologies
•\tExpertise with Fortinet and Cisco highly preferred
•\tEligible for UK Security Clearance (SC)
The following would be an advantage:
•\tExperience with WAF/Load balancers
•\tDynamic routing protocols
•\tFCSS/CCNP or Fortinet Network Security certifications
•\tAgile and ITIL process knowledge
Your Responsibilities
•\tAct as lead technical authority for customer's complex infrastructure environments
•\tProactively identify and drive technical improvements, projects, and changes
•\tServe as primary technical contact during major incidents, leading resolution
•\tWork directly with customers, managing stakeholder relationships
•\tProvide technical leadership and oversight for second and third-line support engineers
•\tDevelop deep understanding of customer solutions to implement beneficial changes

•\tTechnical Authority - Proven ability to articulate design and implementation of complex technical solutions with detailed examples, explaining rationale end-to-end
•\tCustomer Engagement - Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to build customer rapport and trust
