Do you have the leadership skills to guide, support, and inspire a dedicated team in a nurturing, homely environment?
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and reliable Residential Support Worker to join our small but impactful residential children's home in Herefordshire. This two-bedded home provides a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them thrive and reach their potential.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital part in supporting two young people who live in the home. You will be offering them caring support to help them feel safe, valued, and empowered.
You'll be part of a small, dedicated team that works around the clock to provide emotional, practical, and behavioural support. You'll help create a warm, family-style environment where the children can thrive — engaging them in daily routines, helping with education and hobbies, supporting them through challenges, and celebrating their successes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emotional and practical support to children with complex needs.
* Promote independence, life skills, and positive routines.
* Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and homely environment.
* Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals.
* Support children with education, health appointments, activities, and daily living.
* Keep accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people (residential or similar setting preferred).
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
* Resilience, emotional maturity, and a nurturing attitude.
* Ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
What We Offer:
* Competitive salary with enhancements for sleep-ins/overtime
* Ongoing training and development opportunities.
* Supportive team environment and strong leadership.
* Opportunities for progression within the organisation.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career and help shape a brighter future for young people in care, we'd love to hear from you.
