Job Description
Your role will be significant in providing a high-quality sport and physical activity service to Stirling Sports Village users. You will support the Maintenance and Estates Manager with ongoing repairs and pre-planned maintenance, ensuring the facilities we provide are of the highest standard. You will be an integral part of a collaborative team, responsible for the upkeep of the external grounds and synthetic and grass pitches within Stirling Sports Village. This includes but is not limited to, maintaining the grass, hedges, swales, and rear fields to ensure they are well-presented in accordance with Active Stirling brand standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic sports environment, where your experience in ground maintenance will contribute directly to the success of sporting events and the overall experience of athletes and visitors.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications: • Experience working in a sports ground preparation environment. • Full UK Driving Licence. • Ability to work effectively as a team member. • Ability to work unsupervised. • Ability to work on own initiative. Desirable: • PA1 & PA6 Certificates in Safe use of Pesticides. • Certificate in Chainsaw Operations: Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-cutting, Felling and Processing Trees up to mm. • Awareness of health and safety procedures. • Ability to carry out manual handling duties. • Proven ability of working to a high standard. • Experience of working in the sport and leisure industry. • Proven problem-solving skills in a customer facing environment. • Experience of working with the public and providing a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include: • Ensure the synthetic and grass football pitches are maintained to a high standard. • Maintain the exterior grounds throughout the season and perform general groundskeeping duties such as clearing snow and small project work when required. • Health & Safety Compliance – Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for staff, athletes, and visitors. • Operate machinery safely, and ensure that all chemicals, equipment and machinery are properly maintained and secure. Undertaking a range of maintenance duties to support the day-to-day operations of Stirling Sports Village.
