General Assistant - Inverness

The Role...
As a General Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day running of the garden centre across multiple departments both indoors and outdoors. This is a hands-on role where you'll help customers, maintain displays and keep the centre clean, well stocked and welcoming, particularly during our busy spring and summer season.
You will play an important part in delivering a positive customer experience every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming and assisting customers
* Answering enquiries and offering basic product advice
* Operating the till and handling transactions accurately
* Replenishing, pricing and merchandising stock
* Receiving deliveries and moving stock
* Maintaining attractive and well-presented displays
* Keeping retail areas clean, tidy and safe
* General day-to-day support across the garden centre
* Some lifting involved (a good level of fitness is helpful)
What We're Looking For

* Good communication and organisational skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* A proactive and flexible attitude in a fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail and good standards of presentation
* Basic computer skills and confidence using point-of-sale systems
* Interest in gardening, plants or retail (desirable but not essential)
* Enjoys working both indoors and outdoors

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £7.55-£12.25 per hour
Expected hours: 17 per week
