Start Date: ASAP
Hours: up to 22.5 hours per week during term time (with the opportunity to work up to 40 hrs per week during our holiday clubs if desired)
Operational Hours during Term Time: Monday to Friday - 7:30 - 9:00 and 15:00 - 18:00
Holiday Clubs: Derby Holiday Clubs run from 8:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday
Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay)
Contracts: Casual
Our term-time role is to cover for staff sickness, staff holidays and busier sessions; more permanent hours will be offered once they become available. We have several holiday clubs in Derby and we will place you in a club closest to your home address.
Responsibilities
* Plan and execute structured and exciting activities that encourage maximum participation, such as multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, structured play, and more, ensuring they are age-appropriate.
* Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies, including signing in and out processes.
* Provide refreshments for the children.
* Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere for the children in our care, from picking them up from school to safely delivering them back to their parents or caregivers.
* Collaborate with the team to plan and execute additional activities that encourage participation.
* Ensure all activities are age and skill-appropriate while prioritizing safety, including the proper use of equipment and space.
* Set up and pack away play spaces, moving furniture and play equipment as needed.
* Keep all information and documents related to the children in our care confidential and secure.
* Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies, and keep accident and incident forms up to date.
* Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out processes and procedures for all children in our care.
* Communicate professionally with team members, parents, children, and schools; conduct regular maintenance and safety checks for all equipment and kit.
* Take the lead in championing health and safety, providing first aid where necessary.
Qualifications / Requirements
* You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and the other from a childcare setting (if applicable).
* DBS check will be conducted on your behalf; please prepare the correct documentation.
* This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
* You must meet these requirements to be eligible for the hiring process.
