About Jewellery Quarter Bullion
BullionByPost / Jewellery Quarter Bullion (JQB) is the UK’s leading online bullion dealer with £500m+ annual turnover, over 1.5 million orders shipped annually and operations across the UK, EU and US markets.
We’re not a startup — but we think and move like one.
Our brands, including BullionByPost.co.uk and Gold.co.uk, are trusted by hundreds of thousands of investors and collectors worldwide. We are an ambitious, entrepreneurial and commercially driven business with a strong focus on growth, customer experience, operational excellence and innovation.
We are now looking for a Deputy CEO to work alongside the CEO in defining and delivering the next stage of ambitious growth across the business.
You’ll help drive the evolution of the business as we continue embedding AI and automation into our operations, leveraging the expertise and infrastructure of our sister AI business, Danucore, whilst accelerating international growth and strengthening our position as market leader.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth business at scale, with a genuine pathway towards becoming CEO.
Role Overview
This is not a “sit in meetings and nod” type of role.
This is a highly hands-on leadership position suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced, commercially focused environments and enjoys operating both strategically and operationally.
You’ll be in the detail, in the numbers and in the execution, whilst also helping shape wider business strategy and growth plans.
Working closely with the CEO and wider Leadership Team, you will help drive revenue growth, improve operational performance and support the ongoing evolution of the business.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
* Marketing & Growth – performance marketing, CRM, customer acquisition and brand growth
* Sales & Commercial Strategy – pricing, revenue growth, customer lifecycle and commercial opportunities
* Ecommerce & Customer Experience – conversion, UX, product development and data-led optimisation
* Operational Performance & Scalability – fulfilment, efficiency, scalability and customer journey improvements
* AI & Automation Initiatives – embedding automation and operational efficiencies across the business
Delivering an excellent customer experience is a core pillar of this role, not an add-on.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive commercial growth, customer acquisition and revenue performance across the business
* Support and influence marketing, ecommerce and sales strategies to improve conversion, retention and customer lifetime value
* Lead operational improvement initiatives focused on scalability, efficiency and customer experience
* Work closely with senior leadership teams to identify growth opportunities and improve business performance
* Support AI and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and decision-making
* Use data, reporting and commercial insight to drive strategic and operational decisions
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Technology and Finance teams
* Help shape the future direction, structure and scalability of the business
Skills & Experience
* Strong commercial instinct with experience driving revenue and margin growth
* Proven experience within marketing, sales or ecommerce functions (ideally across multiple areas)
* Highly data-driven with strong analytical and decision-making capability
* Strong operational and execution capability
* Comfortable operating in a highly hands-on role rather than a purely strategic position
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Genuine passion for customer experience and operational excellence
* Ability to move quickly, solve problems and deliver outcomes within fast-paced environments
* Experience within high-consideration or trust-led industries such as financial services, luxury retail or insurance (desirable)
* Exposure to operational scaling, fulfilment or logistics environments (desirable)
* Genuine interest in AI, automation and technology-driven operational improvement (desirable)
Why You’ll Love It Here
* Genuine progression opportunity towards CEO
* Significant autonomy and commercial influence
* Opportunity to make a real impact within a market-leading business
* Established business with significant growth potential and scalability
* Opportunity to help shape AI and automation strategy across the company
* Fast-paced, entrepreneurial and ambitious environment
* Strong, focused team with a high-performance culture
* Be part of a business that values Integrity, Agility, Ambition, Clarity and Efficiency
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
* Are highly ambitious and growth-focused
* Are commercially driven and outcome-oriented
* Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
* Are naturally curious, resilient and solutions-focused
* Enjoy accountability and operating at pace
* Care deeply about customer experience and operational standards
* Measure success based on outcomes rather than optics
* Want to help build, scale and shape a market-leading business
Please note that all successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening checks, which include:
* Right to work verification
* Criminal record check (DBS)
* Reference checks
* For certain roles, credit or fraud screening may also be required
