The Responsible Investment (RI) team, reporting directly to Pictet AM’s Co-CEOs, oversees responsible investment across the business. To help shape and deliver Pictet AM’s RI strategy, we are seeking a talented and experienced stewardship professional to join our team.
The RI team drives the development and implementation of the firm’s RI initiatives, ensuring they align with Pictet AM’s broader objectives so as to strengthen its leadership in responsible investment through innovation, commercial success, and enhanced brand recognition. In keeping with our firm's decentralised approach, the RI team works collaboratively with investment teams, sales, and support functions to provide expertise and facilitate ESG integration across the organisation and the product shelf.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of the firm’s RI initiatives. They will contribute their expertise in RI, and their engagement and proxy voting expertise, while also assisting with coordination and operational tasks to ensure the effective delivery of RI priorities.
Your role
1. Collaborate with investment teams to identify key stewardship targets and engagement objectives, and to support the exercise of proxy voting rights. Liaise with multiple investment teams to build consensus when necessary.
2. Co-ordinate and participate in bilateral and/or collaborative engagements with companies on the broad range of ESG issues.
3. Contribute to enhancing our firmwide approach to active ownership, including policy, procedures and guidelines on corporate engagement and proxy voting.
4. Contribute to quality assurance, and internal and external reporting on active ownership activities.
5. Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on RI topics and on market trends as they relate to active ownership, to inform RI strategy development and implementation and RI thought leadership, and support the delivery of specific initiatives.
6. Support commercial efforts by providing expertise for sales and processes and client requests.
7. Support the integration of AI into the RI team's operations.
Your profile
8. University degree finance, economics, business law or other relevant subject.
9. Approximately five years of professional experience in sustainability and/or responsible investment, within the investment industry (ideally at an asset manager or asset owner).
10. Strong expertise in sustainability and/or responsible investment, with a focus on stewardship or active ownership and with an understanding of policy issues relating to corporate governance, shareholder rights and stewardship.
11. Ability to build a constructive dialogue and forge long-term relationships with different stakeholders, particularly investee companies and investment professionals.
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for responsible investment and sustainability.
13. Advanced computer literacy (including with Excel), with the ability to implement AI-driven solutions.
14. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
15. A team-oriented, collaborative mindset, with excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
16. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics with clarity and to use these skills to contribute to regular thought leadership pieces for use internally and externally.
17. Excellent command of English (written and spoken); proficiency in French is highly desirable.
18. The role will be based in London; all applicants should have the right to work in the UK.
