The Role The Assistant Director - Finance is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational finance functions across the shared services business function of St Margaret’s and St Aidan’s Anglican Girls Schools. This position combines strategic financial management with hands-on operational excellence, driving business improvement initiatives whilst ensuring robust financial governance and compliance. Some key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Providing effective financial operations management by leading the day-to-day financial operations across the two schools and ensuring a high standard of financial management. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency gains across finance functions, systems, policies and procedures. Providing strategic financial support, analysis and insights to the senior leadership team. Preparing comprehensive financial reports for Board meetings. Leading and developing the finance team across both campuses, providing mentoring and professional development opportunities. Providing strong stakeholder management across the two schools. About You The role requires a dynamic finance professional who can bridge strategic vision with practical implementation, supporting the schools' educational mission through sound financial stewardship. You will bring: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in education, not-for-profit, or similar service-orientated sectors. Advanced proficiency in financial management systems. A proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Demonstrated experience in process improvement and change management.
