The Geoscience team, comprising experts from Ordtek, GDG, and Partrac, offers unrivaled site characterization, geoscience management, sediment processes, UXO management, and GIS/data services tailored to client needs.
About the job:
Are you ready to apply your environmental skills to support clients with technical advice and assessments in coastal and marine geoscience? Our team has extensive experience supporting sustainable projects across offshore wind, water, dredging, tidal, and marine aquaculture sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work within our broader marine geoscience consultancy team.
Job Role:
We seek Principal / Senior Environmental Consultants with expertise in coastal geomorphology and marine physical processes to support offshore wind, marine, aquaculture, and port projects. Your advice will support project phases from site selection to post-construction monitoring, focusing on seabed conditions and risks.
The successful applicant will:
* Be a proactive technical authority in marine geoscience
* Lead coastal geomorphology and marine physical processes projects
* Lead client and stakeholder liaison
* Possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
* Thoroughly understand client needs
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage proactively with clients on project milestones and deliverables
* Participate in meetings across the UK, Europe, and globally
* Support tenders with technical input
* Analyze data and generate offshore reports using GIS and other tools
* Prepare technical reports and project documentation
* Maintain project spreadsheets for tracking and invoicing
* Mentor less experienced staff
Skills/Experience/Competencies:
* Expertise in coastal processes and sediment transport
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Professional report writing
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience mentoring junior staff
* Client liaison skills
* GIS experience (ArcMap/ArcPro, QGIS) advantageous
* Experience with numerical coastal sediment modeling
* Exceptional IT skills
* Teamwork and ability to work under pressure
* 2-5 years relevant Geoscience experience
* Fluent English, both written and verbal
Education/Qualifications:
* Degree or Master’s in oceanography, marine geology, coastal engineering, or equivalent
Additional Requirements:
* Highly organized, motivated, with strong communication skills and work ethic
* Willingness to travel
* Potential involvement in Business Development activities
