Qualified EMHP Post in Tameside MHST #joinUsBeYou

Delivering CBT Evidence-Based Interventions for children and young people, with mild to moderate mental health problems, in Education Settings. Applicants must have successfully completed the 1-year Post Graduate Certificate 'Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)' course to be considered for shortlisting. We welcome applications from qualified EMHPs and Trainee EMHPs who are due to finish their training in January 2025. You must have registration as an EMHP or have an in-progress application for registration with BABCP or BPS. This will be verified at interview and during pre-employment checks.

Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to access specialized services quickly. Supporting and facilitating staff in Education Settings to identify and manage mental health and wellbeing issues where appropriate.

Working within educational environments to improve access to specialist mental health services.

Managing low-level risks and recognizing higher-level risks, escalating them appropriately.


Main duties of the job

Delivering outcome-focused, Evidence-Based Interventions in Educational Settings for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

Developing skills in supporting children, young people, their parents/carers, families, and educators in self-managing presenting difficulties.

Developing and practicing Evidence-Based skills and working collaboratively with children, young people, families, and educators to develop treatment plans and agree on outcomes.

Formulating and developing treatment plans in collaboration with children, young people, and, where appropriate, parents/carers.

Person Specification


Experience

* Experience managing caseloads of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs
* Experience working in community mental health settings
* Experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions
* Experience delivering group interventions
* Experience providing interventions in Educational Settings
* Experience working with children and families in hospital or community settings
* Experience working within mental health services


Knowledge

* Understanding of CYP-IAPT Principles and Routine Outcome Measures
* Knowledge of Safeguarding and multi-agency working
* Understanding of Child Development
* Knowledge of the educational system in England
* Understanding of how systemic and family factors maintain difficulties


Skills and Abilities

* Assess, plan, and implement care for young people with complex difficulties
* Communicate effectively with young people and families, demonstrating empathy
* Recognize limits and seek support when needed
* Assess and manage emotional and mental health issues
* Deliver various therapeutic techniques in individual and group settings


Qualifications

* Graduate Diploma in Educational Health Practice for Children and Young People (EMHP Qualification). BABCP and/or BPS registered or working towards registration

This post requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975. A disclosure submission will be made to check for any criminal convictions.

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 per annum, pro-rata.
