The company has a strong UK customer portfolio in Retail, E-Commerce, Fashion, and FMCG sectors.
The Role
The Bids and Tender Manager - 3PL Contract Logistics will lead all tender activities across the UK, presenting an exciting opportunity for experienced logistics professionals to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organization.
This role may require travel, primarily within the Lutterworth area, a few days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. End-to-End Bid Management: Lead the full bid lifecycle from qualification and strategy development to submission and post-submission clarifications.
2. Tender Qualification & Risk Assessment: Evaluate bid opportunities for strategic fit, commercial viability, and operational deliverability, ensuring alignment with business capabilities and risk appetite.
3. Bid Strategy & Solution Design: Collaborate with various teams to develop compelling logistics solutions tailored to client needs.
4. Commercial Modelling & Pricing Oversight: Lead pricing models and ensure competitiveness and profitability across services.
5. Content Creation & Proposal Writing: Develop high-quality tender responses and supporting documents.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Project Management: Coordinate internal teams to deliver timely and high-quality bids.
7. Client Interface & Clarification Handling: Engage with clients to clarify requirements and support negotiations.
8. Market Intelligence & Benchmarking: Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
9. Continuous Improvement: Enhance bid processes and maintain proposal content libraries.
10. Governance & Compliance: Ensure all bids adhere to standards and regulations.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain experience (Essential).
* At least 3+ years in Bids or Tender management (Essential).
* Proven 3PL experience (Advantageous).
* Experience managing tenders over £40m (Advantageous).
* Ability to build solutions-minded teams (Essential).
* Knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market (Advantageous).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation skills (Highly Advantageous).
* Excitement for large-scale growth challenges (Essential).
* Ability to commute to Lutterworth 2-3 days per week (Essential).
