About the role
At Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), our award-winning creative campus is more than just a physical space, it’s a vital part of how we teach, collaborate, innovate, and build community. As we look to the future, our estate must continue to reflect our ambition and support a world-class student and staff experience.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Senior Leadership Team as Director of Estates, Facilities and Campus Strategy. This is a pivotal role that will shape the strategic development and operational delivery of our built environment and infrastructure at a time of significant institutional growth and change.
You will lead on campus strategy, capital development, facilities operations, and environmental sustainability, ensuring that our estate continues to inspire and enable excellence across all areas of the university. You will also provide strategic direction for AUB’s technical services provision, which underpins the delivery of our distinctive practice-based education model.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, the postholder will work closely with senior colleagues across academic and professional services teams, and engage with a range of external partners and regulatory stakeholders. This is a high-impact leadership role with significant breadth, responsibility and influence.
About You
We’re looking for a strategic and forward-thinking estates professional with significant senior-level experience in estates, facilities, or capital development, ideally gained in a higher education or similarly complex environment.
You will bring a strong track record of delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure, managing large teams and complex projects, and maintaining compliance across estates operations. You’ll be a collaborative leader with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of navigating the technical, operational, and cultural aspects of the role with confidence. Most importantly, you’ll share AUB’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, sustainable, and inspiring campus that supports creativity to thrive.
Why Join AUB?
Arts University Bournemouth is a distinctive, specialist university with an international reputation for excellence in art, design, media and performance. Our creative campus, based on the beautiful South Coast, is a place where innovation and collaboration come to life and where you can have a real and lasting impact.
This is an exciting time to join AUB. As we continue to grow our student community, expand our academic offer, and enhance our campus environment, we are investing in the future of our estate and in the leadership that will guide it.
