Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and system administration, with a focus on cloud computing and continuous integration. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our deployment processes, ensuring system reliability, and optimising performance across our applications.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with software developers and IT staff to manage code releases and deployments.
* Implement and manage continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub.
* Utilise containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to streamline application deployment.
* Monitor system performance using tools like New Relic and Splunk, addressing any issues that arise.
* Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery.
* Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
* Develop automation scripts using languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), or PowerShell for system administration tasks.
* Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested to maintain business continuity.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and improve the overall software development lifecycle (SDLC).
* Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications
* Proficient in programming languages including Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Go, C#, or C++.
* Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
* Familiarity with web servers like NGINX, Tomcat, Weblogic, or JBoss.
* Knowledge of databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB, or Oracle.
* Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN configurations.
* Experience with version control systems such as SVN or Git.
* Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in incident management scenarios.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
