Tax & Reporting Manager
Location: Scotland, Motherwell
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 to 17:00
Responsibilities
* Manage tax compliance, statutory reporting, and audit processes across the Northern Europe region.
* Oversee corporation tax compliance across NOE entities, working with external tax advisers and transfer pricing experts.
* Handle indirect tax obligations including VAT, CIS, and RCT, and other local compliance requirements such as employment taxes, plastic packaging tax, ESG reporting, and statistical filings.
* Support the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) compliance process, maintaining documentation and controls to demonstrate tax governance.
* Coordinate the preparation of annual statutory financial statements in line with UK reporting standards, managing relationships with external accounting partners.
* Liaise with external auditors throughout the audit cycle, ensuring timely delivery of information requests and adherence to agreed timetables.
* Drive a robust controls environment by monitoring internal controls and system workflows across end‑to‑end finance processes.
* Monitor changes in tax legislation and statutory requirements, assess impact, and update internal processes accordingly.
* Support internal audit processes and maintain strong compliance standards across the region.
* Provide technical guidance on tax and accounting matters to local finance teams.
* Work 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to ensure service delivery at the highest level.
Qualifications
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent); CTA qualification particularly welcome.
* Solid working knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance, including awareness of transfer pricing principles, group tax loss reliefs, and emerging Pillar II obligations across multi‑jurisdictional group structures.
* Experience in a tax compliance or tax management role within a complex, multi‑entity or group environment.
* Familiarity with the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) regime and required controls documentation.
* Proven ability to manage external adviser and auditor relationships effectively.
* Demonstrated track record of maintaining strong controls and governance standards.
* Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, growth and change environment.
* Practical experience of VAT, CIS, and RCT compliance in a multi‑entity environment advantageous.
* Exposure to Nordic tax jurisdictions and experience with ERP implementation or finance system change projects desirable.
* Background in facilities management, engineering, or a related service‑led sector beneficial.
