We are currently looking for a Vessel Traffic Services Officer (VTSO) to join our busy team in the Port of Dover.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and regulate the movement of all vessels within the port, ensuring safety and compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code.
* Advise captains and pilots on passing vessels, allocate berths for scheduled and unscheduled arrivals, and coordinate with the Duty Harbour Master for operational efficiency.
* Contribute to the smooth running of port activities and the safety of all involved.
Hours of Work
The Port operates 365 days a year. You\'ll work a shift pattern of days and nights, averaging 42 hours per week.
Requirements
* Valid CO103/1 certificate is required; training will be provided to achieve this certification.
* Previous experience within VTS or a comparable industry, or as an Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW.
* Experience in a senior rating or command-and-control role, preferably in the Armed Forces.
* Demonstrable experience in operational management and planning.
* Proficiency in operating VTS systems such as RADAR, AIS, CCTV, and communications systems.
