Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Sales Representative – Ready Mixed Concrete for our client based in Glasgow.
Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded sales professional to join a leading supplier in the construction materials sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising all sales opportunities within their area, managing existing client relationships, and identifying new business prospects to maintain and grow market share. This role plays a vital part in driving revenue and delivering technical expertise to customers across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
* Act as the main point of contact for all customer queries and provide technical assistance where required.
* Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities through regular area sweeps.
* Price enquiries and tenders in line with company policy and market conditions.
* Monitor daily deliveries and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Keep abreast of competitor activity, market trends, and new products.
* Liaise closely with internal departments including Sales, Distribution, Production, and Transport.
* Handle customer complaints and invoice queries promptly and professionally.
* Promote new plants and products to customers as they become available.
* Maintain up-to-date product knowledge in a dynamic environment.
* Provide relevant customer credit information to the credit control team.
* Entertain customers in line with company policy to strengthen business relationships.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in field-based sales within construction materials, aggregates, concrete, quarrying, civils, or a related technical sales environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
* Highly organised with effective time management skills.
* Confident in resolving technical issues and queries.
* Solid understanding of concrete products and admixtures.
* Competent in using IT systems and Microsoft Office.
* Professionally presented with a customer-focused approach.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client and company sites as needed.
* Good awareness of competitors and market dynamics.
