Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
Location: Newcastle – Skoda and Kia
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
Salary: OTE up to £52,480 (Uncapped); base £28,000 – £43,000 plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and Time‑Saved Bonus Scheme.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with one Saturday morning a week.
We are recruiting for various levels of technicians to strengthen our growing team. If you are a qualified Vehicle Technician or experienced Mechanic, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Carry out pre‑delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
* Perform checks in line with manufacturers’ guidelines.
* Fit additional accessories requested by the customer.
* Conduct vehicle health checks and report any further work required.
* Check lights, tyre pressure, and mechanical and electrical components.
* Complete minor repairs on new and used vehicles.
* Understand and conduct basic diagnosis in both mechanical and electrical work.
* Perform vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines and customer requests.
* Carry out authorised repairs.
* Complete warranty repairs per the manufacturer’s guidelines and write‑ups.
* Take the customer’s vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified.
* Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), motor‑industry experience (brand or non‑brand), and a full, valid UK driving licence. You should be self‑motivated, supportive of the team, ambitious, eager to learn, and able to maintain the highest standards for all vehicles that pass through our doors.
Previous brand experience is desirable but not essential; brand accreditation training will be provided. Diagnostic, MOT and EV experience is also desirable though not required.
