Overview

Job Title: Hygiene Manager

Location: Merthyr Tydfil

Type: Full Time

Salary: Will depend on experience

Hours: 40 hours (might include weekends)


Responsibilities

* To ensure all aspects of the hygiene service are carried out and maintained to the required standard.
* To manage the hygiene hours and ensure all expenditure is authorised and recorded.
* To maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for every hygiene activity that meet the requirements of the BRC food safety standard and specified safety standards for audits.
* Responsible for the cleaning of air handling, evaporators, and all aspects of high risk production equipment.
* To conduct compliance audits/inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation.
* To manage the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment on site – to include regular reviews with the client.
* To support the Technical & QA team in obtaining samples for testing and participating in microbiological investigations or projects to drive improvements in the site hygiene standards.
* To provide training and awareness for all hygiene staff in all procedures relevant to their role.
* Attend regular catch up meetings and Weekly KPI meetings.


Requirements

* Minimum of Level 3 Food Safety Qualification.
* Experience of working in a senior Hygiene management role in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of High Care food environment.
* Experience of Working with HACCP.
* People management experience.
* Experience of BRC Customer Audits.
* Experience leading and working with a diverse workforce.

* To actively comply with and enforce all relevant statutory, company and site policies and procedures.
* To conduct employee Performance Development Reviews on a regular basis and establish training and development plans.


Key Strategic Responsibilities

* Audit the key operational documentation which your team will utilise in order to maintain due diligence in the provision of the contract services provided by CSA. Examples include cleaning schedules, projects and plans, compliance testing, inspections, training records & matrices.
* Carry out cleaning and related services inspections on site and deal with any non-conformances as a matter of urgency.
* Ensure your team are carrying out inspections such as Finished Standards Inspections, Methodology Checks, or ad-hoc inspections of personnel hygiene and PPE conformance.
* Maintain staff rotas to ensure effective and efficient provision of services without overspend to the agreed budgets.
* Assist the Contract Manager in designing budgets and manage them effectively. No overspend will be accepted without prior consent from the Contract Manager.
* Assist the Contract Manager to manage site annual leave requests to ensure sufficient staff are available to provide the agreed service specification.
* Lead in staff recruitment, selection, induction, training, and development; identify training gaps to drive continuous improvement.
* On-site strategic development with appropriate business heads; innovation and improvement planning with strong working relationships.
* Maintain a safe and professional approach on site and manage the contract services provided by CSA through your team of Team Leaders and Operatives.
* Meet with clients regularly to discuss services and foster a good working relationship; deal with customer complaints promptly (within 24 hours where possible).
* Comply with all CSA and Client rules, regulations, and policies.


Health and Safety responsibilities

* Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Report any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may risk health and safety or the environment.
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training.
* Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager or via the divisional incident reporting system.


Information Security

* Ensure compliance with CSA’s information security procedures in all activities.
* Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
* Report actual and suspected security incidents.


Job Details

* Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
* Salary: £28,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
* Benefits: Free parking On-site parking
* Schedule: Day shift, Night shift
* Ability to commute/relocate: Merthyr Tydfil, Merthyr Tydfil: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
