 
        The Horsham Learning Alliance – a brand-new multi-academy trust comprising Collyer’s and The Forest School – is looking for an HR and Payroll Officer to complement the current team in providing a first-class HR service to the Trust. Key Responsibilities Raising payroll authorisation forms for all changes and inputting employment records and payroll details for starters and changes on the HR and payroll database. Inputting payroll details, calculating the amount due on monthly claim forms, and creating a claims spreadsheet for payroll submission. Checking monthly payslips and company sick pay calculations. Producing printed payslips and issuing P45s and P60s. Undertaking payroll filing and archiving old employee files. Assisting with the administration of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, Local Government Pension Scheme and AVC Schemes. Ensuring contracts of employment and letters for variation for staff are accurately produced. Assisting with the spreadsheet for staff deployment and coordinating the administration and communication of annual changes to contracts and working patterns. Assisting with mandatory annual returns and running other HR and management reports as required. Providing cover for creating new personnel records and recording and approving staff absences. Skills and Experience Academic qualifications to Level 3 and above (CIPD qualification at Level 3 is desirable). A background in customer service and administration. HR or payroll experience. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in dealing with staff and external stakeholders. Administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in databases and Excel spreadsheets. Confident, empathetic and approachable. Ability to use initiative to solve problems. Salary: Point 8 to Point 10 on the Support Staff Pay Scale. The annual salary for an FT post in this range is £25,330pa, rising to £26,666pa. Contract and Hours: Fixed term until June 2027. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, but there is flexibility available if you are unable to work full-time. Location: The College of Richard Collyer, Horsham, West Sussex.
