As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in overseeing engineering maintenance programmes to ensure compliance with HSEQ, financial, commercial, and client expectations. You will be responsible for managing workstreams, leading teams, and implementing solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate all programme elements while adhering to WGM’s safety standards, including design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
* Provide line management support, setting performance KPIs, conducting appraisals, and developing team growth plans.
* Manage budgets and resources, ensuring compliance targets are met.
* Oversee design and development, ensuring industry standards are upheld.
* Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering open communication.
* Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
* Ensure health and safety processes are followed across all workstreams.
* Accurately document HSEQ compliance for both office-based and site teams.
* Lead or attend weekly meetings with clients and stakeholders, both onsite and remotely.
* Collaborate with business support functions to ensure compliance objectives are met.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with workstreams.
* Manage scheduling and programme coordination, ensuring smooth delivery across multiple projects.
* Report progress, issues, and concerns to the E&M Director and Delivery Manager.
* Champion an excellent health and safety environment, prioritising training, and development.
* Ensure quality standards and expectations of WGM and its clients are delivered.
* Plan resource allocation, considering workload forecasts across workstreams.
* Provide feedback to senior management at all key project stages.
* Drive continuous improvement, ensuring the programme is delivered within compliance periods.
* Review employee performance, identifying areas for growth and development.
* Fulfil responsibilities as a Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC), adhering to technical standards.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A relevant qualification in construction or mechanical engineering (HNC, HND, or Degree level).
* Knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and industry standards.
* Clear understanding of NEC contracts, compensation events, and early warnings (desirable).
* Experience managing payment applications and deadlines.
* CSCS card holder status (desirable but not essential).
* Strong time management and project coordination skills.
* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power BI reporting.
* Valid UK driving licence (essential).
