We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of complex systems for various clients.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities
* Successfully complete all identified training both in-house and external, as required.
* Develop system architectures, designs, and detailed specifications to meet client requirements.
* Integrate various subsystems and components to form a cohesive system, ensuring compatibility and performance.
* Execute system testing and validation activities to verify that systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.
* Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans and operator manuals.
* Analyse and translate client requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
* Participate in technical discussions with the project teams and identify and resolve technical issues.
* Support commissioning at client sites.
* Support and specify procurement activities as required.
* Be actively involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing of bespoke systems.
* Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.
* Engage in continuous learning to develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to system integration.
* Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered system.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, workshop and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.
* Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.
* Support the delivery of the project scope to company quality management system, process and procedures.
* Have base knowledge of client specific standards and international standards.
* Engage in quality and technical reviews.
* Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.
Summary Of Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a relevant qualification or 4 years’ experience in systems engineering/hardware or electrical design or equivalent role.
* Experience in low voltage & extra low voltage power distribution. Ideally 400VAC with motor starters.
* Competent in designing & drawing schematics + general arrangements from scratch based on a User Requirement Spec.
* Good understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
* Good knowledge of Software Packages relevant to the role of an Electrical Design Engineer i.e. AutoCAD Electrical.
* Familiarity and experience with system integration processes, tools and technologies.
* A basic understanding of industry and company quality management systems, process and procedure.
