Responsibilities
* Provide Speech and Language Therapy support to children with speech, language and communication needs in the East Locality team under the supervision of a Speech and Language Therapist.
* Set up and run parent groups, children’s groups, individual assessment and intervention, provide advice and target setting within settings or at home, and develop resources and packages of care.
* Independently manage, with support from a Speech and Language Therapist, a caseload of children with developmental communication and acquired disorders of speech, language and communication.
* Set up resources within programmes to be carried out by other key workers or parents.
* Contribute to written reports collated by the Speech and Language Therapist.
* Provide training and support to parents and carers, other professionals including early years and school staff, appropriate voluntary organisations at local level, etc.
This is a community‑based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county, including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.
