People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich on a full-time permanent basis.
A vacancy has arisen to join the Engineering Department within a lower-tier COMAH facility .
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled engineering team.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, qualified Mechanical Engineer/Manager, and we are looking for an immediate start .

Day-to-Day Duties:
Full responsibility for managing the Mechanical & Civil Engineering departments (23 staff, plus external contractors when required)
Oversee mechanical and civil maintenance operations within an industrial manufacturing setting
Deliver and manage minor mechanical projects from conception to completion
Use and manage Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) effectively
Promote a strong safety culture across all engineering activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Liaise with all levels of staff internally and with external stakeholders such as suppliers, contractors, the HSE, and insurance inspectors
Provide hands-on leadership and ensure operational priorities are met
Essential Skills:
HNC in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
Minimum of 10 years experience in a mechanical engineering role within an industrial manufacturing environment
At least 5 years experience in a supervisory or management position
Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and project delivery
Proficient in the use of CMMS systems
Excellent leadership, team management, and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and shifting priorities
Good working knowledge of health & safety and compliance requirements in an industrial setting
Desirable Skills:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience working within a COMAH-regulated site
Familiarity with liaising with regulatory bodies such as the HSE and insurance inspectors
Advanced IT/computer literacy (MS Office, CMMS platforms, reporting tools)
Training:
