Job Title Health Services Manager – Nursing Supervisor SCI

The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Health Services Manager (Nursing Supervisor) position. This position is based out of Stanley Correctional Institution in Stanley, WI (Chippewa County).
Position Summary
The Nursing Supervisor – Health Services Manager (HSM) serves as the administrative and clinical leader of the Health Services Unit (HSU). The HSM is a Registered Nurse with a high degree of expertise in nursing care and health care management. The HSM works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team within the HSU, including Dental Services, Medical/Provider Services, Psychological Services and other specialties within the health care team, and provides overall administrative support and direction of the HSU. This position has considerable latitude for independent action within established DOC/DAI Institution and BHS standards, policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for the fiscal planning and administration of the HSU budget.
The HSM fosters competency in practice, education and the professional development of assigned staff. The HSM works within policies and procedures and ensures that health care delivery meets appropriate community and regulatory health care standards and ensures quality care is based on evidence-based practice and current National Commission of Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards. The HSM ensures patients have timely access to safe, high-quality care and identifies and removes barriers to care. This position fosters a healthy, collaborative work environment where staff feel safe, supported and encouraged to share ideas to improve the care provided to patients. The HSM is responsible for mentoring and coaching of assigned staff.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range50-11 with pay starting from $63.01/hour to $63.11/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

This position may allow occasional remote work but will normally be on site. Any remote work will depend on the needs of the institution at the time and must be performed from Wisconsin.
Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM.
This position is FLSA Exempt.
This position will travel occasionally to provide coverage at other DOC worksites, and most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Must possess and maintain an active unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or another state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
Experience providing direct nursing care to patients
Experience with financial management and/or administration of a budget
Experience overseeing nursing practice and/or patient outcomes
Experience in a supervisory role
