Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to take full accountability for the successful delivery of projects from initiation through to handover and closeout.
This is a leadership role for a proactive change agent who can inspire and manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in shaping project strategy, driving performance, and delivering value for clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Governance
* Lead periodic project reviews and maintain risk, issue, and opportunity registers
* Facilitate risk and opportunity reviews, implementing mitigation strategies
* Escalate issues beyond delegated authority in a timely manner
Procurement & Supply Chain
* Develop and oversee subcontracting strategies and package allocation
* Ensure procurement plans align with project timelines and delivery milestones
Quality Assurance
* Drive a quality-first approach with a focus on successful handover and certification
* Monitor KPIs and implement improvement actions
* Lead audits and assurance activities, addressing findings effectively
Planning & Scheduling
* Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules
* Ensure alignment between operational milestones and overall project plans
* Promote the use of productivity and project controls techniques
Commercial & Contract Management
* Manage project budgets and ensure cost control
* Identify opportunities for cost recovery
* Balance operational and commercial priorities in decision-making
* Lead reporting processes and escalate where required
Digital Delivery
* Promote data-driven decision-making and digital consistency
* Ensure compliance with digital standards and tools
* Support team development in digital capabilities
Health, Safety & Environment
* Champion a Zero Harm culture across all project activities
* Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and best practices
* Lead safety tours, audits, and incident investigations
* Review and approve RAMS and maintain live H&S plans
Leadership & Team Development
* Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
* Provide mentoring and support to Project Managers and team members
* Plan and manage resource allocation effectively
* Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
* Prepare internal and external reports
* Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
* Ensure reporting supports informed, strategic decision-making

* Experience managing and developing teams
Desirable
* Experience across multiple project types
* Membership of a professional body (e.g. APM)
* Proficiency in Microsoft O365
* Full UK driving licence
* Active participation in industry events
Qualifications
You are likely to have one or more of the following:
* Degree (BSc/MSc) in Construction, Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* APM qualifications (PFQ/PMQ/PPQ)
* CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent)
