We have two openings for a receptionist position within the organisation.
20-25 hours per week, predominantly based at The Village Surgery Lostock Hall and Croston Medical Centre.
Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Main duties of the job
* Have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
* Work in accordance with written protocols.
* Pull/filing notes for surgeries and update when required.
* Scan/File post in medical records.
* Fax and photocopy as requested.
* Receive patients consulting with members of the practice team.
* Handle prescription requests via telephone and with patients.
* Cover all reception positions as necessary.
* Process appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
* Deal with visit requests.
* Register new patients, including computer data entry and medical records.
* Process patients' change of address, computer data, and medical records (have knowledge of practice area).
* Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines.

We comprise 6 surgeries with our own Primary Care Network Status: Buckshaw Village Surgery, Eaves Lane Surgery, Adlington Medical Centre, Croston Medical Centre, The Village Surgery at Lostock Hall, and Medicare Unit. Our total patient list size is 23,000 and growing rapidly. We work closely with neighbouring practices as part of a collaborative group to develop innovative primary care services for a patient population in excess of 30,000.
We currently employ 60 staff members; we take pride in working together to deliver the best care for our patients.
The practice is constantly evolving to take advantage of opportunities in the ever-changing NHS and to find new and better ways of working.

Person Specification
Experience
* Basic knowledge of IT.
* Previous experience in primary care is desired but not essential.
