Freedom's Professional Services are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with a cabling specialism to join our team out of the Stowmarket or London offices to support the growth of work within Scotland.
This role will involve designing, drawing, and calculating projects, collaborating with the wider Design team, and conducting site visits for surveys and data collection as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and leading technically demanding projects.
* Leading all types of cabling projects, including calculations and drawings, from concept to detailed design, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
* Building strong client relationships through good commercial awareness.
* Having detailed knowledge of cable system routing and design, and proficiency with software such as AutoCAD and CYMCAP.
* Understanding and resolving complex engineering issues like SEDs.
* Mentoring and guiding Design, Assistant, and Graduate Engineers.
* Participating in and chairing design team meetings, both virtually and in person.
* Providing engineering solutions to site problems via TQ/RFI processes.
* Reviewing and authorising earthing reports and drawings, offering technical feedback.
* Conducting and supervising site visits for earthing assessments, design commissioning, and investigations after failures.
Candidate requirements:
* A degree is desirable but HNC/HND fundamentals are essential.
* Autonomous with minimal supervision needed to complete tasks.
