Job Title: Credit Controller
Location: Bolton
Reports to: Credit Control Manager
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum
Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed Term, 12 months
About the role
To support the Credit Control Manager in providing an efficient and customer-focused service for invoicing and cash collection. The role ensures timely payments, processes incoming funds, reconciles accounts, and resolves queries promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with customers to undertake effective collection and obtain earliest possible settlement of accounts to maintain cash flow.
2. Understand and follow customer procedures to ensure invoices are compliant and processed efficiently.
3. Maintain and build relationships with customers to maximise early payment of invoices.
4. Collaborate with other departments to ensure excellent service.
5. Resolve queries with internal departments and manage them through to resolution.
6. Engage proactively with customers to deal with queries and manage credit notes.
7. Send statements and copy invoices upon request.
8. Process and reconcile incoming funds via accurate daily cash allocation.
9. Perform monthly account reconciliations as required.
10. Monitor all debtors and liaise with the Credit Control Manager to forecast cash receipts.
Essential Requirements:
* Relevant experience in Credit Control or finance setting.
* Experience with finance systems.
* Minimum of 4 GCSEs grade C or above.
* Highly numerate and accurate with financial data.
* Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
* Professional demeanor, positive attitude, good communication skills, and accuracy.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive with good initiative and ownership of tasks.
