SEND Case Officer (Contract) About us Our client is a local authority dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They are currently seeking a SEND Case Officer to join their Statutory SEND Service on a 34 month contract. This role is vital in supporting the Councils SEND strategies and ensuring timely and compliant Education, Health and Care (EHC) planning. You will manage an allocated caseload and ensure the EHC planning process is delivered in a timely and legally compliant manner. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice (025 years) Collaborate with professionals including educational psychologists, social workers, health staff, and education providers Draft, finalise, and issue EHC Plans, coordinating all necessary reports and information Use the SEND Case Management System (Capita ONE) to manage and record all casework Ensure all verbal and written communication is legally compliant Prepare and present written summary briefs for advisory panels, including financial implications About You Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND? Do you have a strong understanding of statutory processes and a collaborative approach? If so, wed love to hear from you. You will need the following: Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults Knowledge of the statutory framework for EHC assessments and plans Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades AC), including English, Maths, and ICT (or equivalent) Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent, or qualified by experience Additional Information Contract Duration: 34 months Working Hours: 37 hours per week Enhanced DBS check required Application Deadline: Apply ASAP the role closes soon!
